Due to its high alpine location, crossing the pass is not possible all year round. The road usually opens its gates at the end of May and is then passable for about five months until November. Of course, it is important that you consider the opening hours for the respective year. In 2021, the road will open on June 10. The Timmelsjoch snow clearance 2021 is completed by this date, and the road is safe for traffic. The pass may only be used between 7:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m.
