DRIVE TO THE STARTING POINT

From Innsbruck or Munich, take the train or car towards Kufstein. Once there, we drive to the parking lot at Kaiserlift. With a car, you pay 3€ per day for the parking lot, buses 8€.

START OF THE TOUR

You can now decide whether to take the lift or hike up on foot.

We decide to hike up on foot.

We start our tour from the parking lot. We walk a short distance along the paved road towards the Josef Madersberger Monument and turn right into the forest. There are now steps leading up.

We pass the Hinter Duxer and later Duxeralm. At the Duxeralm, a few sweet friends even await us :-). These are Scottish Highland cattle. Have you ever seen them?

We continue along the "Weinbergerhaus" signs. The path leads us through a wonderful forest clearing, where we naturally have to take a few pictures. Autumn is simply a magical season. I love the colorful leaves in the forests.

Now it gets a little steep. Following the path signs, we continue along a forest road. If you prefer a shortcut, you can take the path across a meadow, where you will be rewarded with a wonderfully beautiful view towards the Inn Valley. Arrived at the mountain station of the chairlift, we now go right up to the Weinbergerhaus.

Weinbergerhaus

Finally arrived at the Weinbergerhaus! Sweet alpacas await us there, grazing comfortably next to the hut in a meadow. A very special highlight for the kids, who enthusiastically watch the animals.

The Weinbergerhaus also offers rooms for overnight stays with breakfast.

But now we are looking forward to our reward - lunch and order Geschnetzeltes with Spätzle, as well as (of course as always) a Kaiserschmarrn. I can really recommend the Kaiserschmarrn. Especially with "Zwetschgenröster" (plum compote). Absolutely delicious and one of the best Kaiserschmarrn I've ever eaten. And I've had a lot of Kaiserschmarrn! ;-)

We enjoy lunch with a beautiful view and a cold non-alcoholic wheat beer.

Return journey

Refreshed, we start our way back. The path leads us behind the Weinbergerhaus through a forest. We leisurely walk down the forest path towards Kufstein.

Conclusion

It was a very nice hike in Tyrol. Especially in autumn, it is beautiful there with the colorful foliage. The hike is sometimes a bit steep. Perseverance is key!

The tour is not very suitable for strollers, so it's better to use baby carriers.

At the top of the Weinbergerhaus, you will be rewarded with delicious traditional alpine hut food. If you like, you must try the Kaiserschmarrn!

All in all, I can highly recommend the hike.
